The in-season tournament for the 35+ Elite League began last week. Here are the standings:
- Auto Place, 5 out of a possible 5 points.
- Icemen, 4.5
- Abbey Mecca, 4
- Nickel City (formerly the Hawks), 1
- Towne Auto, 0.5
- Labatt, 0
The tournament continues the next four weeks. Five points are at stake each game, 1 for each period won, plus 2 points for winning the game.
The two teams with the most points after five games will play in a title game, which will be the next time they play in the regular season. The winning team receives a block of 16 tickets to the Sabres-Edmonton game on Monday, Feb. 3.
The tournament for the Sunday league begins Dec. 1. The top two teams after three games will play their next game for tickets to the Sabres-Edmonton game.
